Russian Go-Go Bar and Thai Pub raided by Pattaya authorities
The first venue to be targeted was the Moulin Rouge Bar on Walking Street which has, for many years, employed Eastern European Hostesses to work in the bar. Inside officers detained 50 customers and 11 Russian employees. The Russians had passports and valid visas but were not in possession of Thai Work Permits and were therefore arrested and are expected to be deported in due course.
Police then moved to the MC2 Pub off the South Pattaya Road which has been shut down on numerous occasions but has re-opened despite warnings that the venue was operating illegally.
On Sunday, Police found 20 patrons under the age of 20 years, 8 Thai Nationals who were not carrying their Thai ID Cards, which is a fineable offence, and 10 Security Guards who were carrying unlicensed two-way radios.
The Pub was ordered closed once again and is now the subject of further investigations by officials along with the Moulin Rouge Club
