Gang Beat Tourist Unconscious and Rob Him
PATTAYA – November 10, 2013 [PDN], At 3.30 a.m. police from Pattaya city police station and the rescuers of Sawang Boribul Pattaya foundation rushed to inspect the crime scene on the side of Pattaya beach in the area of Bay Walk Residence, Moo 9 Tambon Nong Prue, Amphur Banglamung, Chonburi province. Upon arrival they were informed that a gang had attacked a tourist, robbed him and fled the scene. The victim was a foreign man who maybe Russian aged approximately 30-35 his body was battered and bruised and he was unconscious so he wasn’t able to tell the police what the gang looked like. The police searched the tourist for ID but couldn’t find a wallet but they found a bracelet and a platinum necklace. They then took photos for evidence and the tourist was sent to Pattaya Memorial Hospital for treatment.
From questioning a bystander Mr. Kietchai Pholjan, aged 34 who is a motorbike taxi driver told the police that he saw the 3 culprits driving a red Honda Click but couldn’t remember the license number. The 3 culprits parked up and 2 of them walked over to the male tourist who was sat alone drinking beer, they attacked him knocked him unconscious and robbed him of his property but Mr. Kietchai shouted at the culprits which startled them so they fled the scene leaving the bracelet and necklace behind. The police assumed that the culprits are driving around late at night looking for tourist who are alone and drunk, once they find a victim they attack and rob them. The police are now urgently seeking the offenders to arrest them and prosecute them according to Thai law.
