Phuket's hornbill sanctuary opened to the public

Managed by the Royal Thai Navy's Hydrographic Department, Koh Taphao Noi is the only nature reserve in the area where Oriental Pied Hornbill's can be found. There are 70 breeding pairs living on the island today. The island was previously closed to visitors and, since 2008, has seen an increase of 20 breeding pairs of hornbills. Now the Navy has prepared Koh Taphao Noi to welcome a limited number of visitors each day. Details of how to book your visit can be found in this video.
